DuEwa Frazier
DuEwa Frazier is a poet, writer, performance artist, speaker, educator and cultural organizer from St. Louis. She is the author of two published volumes of poetry: Shedding Light From My Journeys (2002) and Stardust Tracks on a Road (2005). DuEwa is the Founder and CEO of Lit Noire Publishing, a creative arts and publishing organization. She is the editor and publisher of the NAACP Image Award nominated anthology, CHECK THE RHYME: AN ANTHOLOGY OF FEMALE POETS & EMCEES. DuEwa has produced numerous arts events in the New York City area and other locations.
DuEwa's writings have featured in Essence Magazine, PW Review, Drumvoices Revue, Mosaic, Poetry Ink Anthology, Poetry in Performance, and others. She has been profiled in several publications including The St. Louis American, The St. Louis Argus, Booking Matters, The Ave Magazine, Rolling Out Urbanstyle Weekly and others.
As an author, performing poet and speaker DuEwa has featured at numerous arts venues, colleges, festivals, and conferences including. She earned the B.A. in English at Hampton University, the M.S.Ed. in Curriculum & Teaching (Literacy) and is an M.F.A. Candidate in Creative Writing at The New School. DuEwa has written curriculum for secondary students and has taught in the areas of English, Theater Arts and GED preparation for adult students. She resides in New York.
