She has an MFA in fiction from Seattle Pacific University, an MA in Adult Education and Administration, and a BA in English Literature from Wake Forest University.

She lives in Orlando, Florida with her son and little white dog "Annie." She likes traveling to the Florida shores, the North Carolina mountains, Santa fe, New Mexico, and London, England.
