Phoebe Wilcox

My first novel, Angels Carry the Sun (Lilly Press, Sept 2010) is being nominated for a PEN/Faulkner Award.

The book has been evoking comparisons to F. Scott Fitzgerald and D.H. Lawrence. People are saying, "I knew you were good, but holy Christ! --You're the real McCoy," and, "This is probably one of the best books I've ever read!"

In 2009 and 2010 two of my short stories, "Carp with Water in their Ears" and "The Librarian and the Janitor" were nominated for the Pushcart prize. Links to much of my published work may be found at my website. I also published a poetry chapbbok, Recidivist, with Lilly Press in 2010.

Phoebe Wilcox - Wow, I don't think anyone ever spoke to me here before! How neat! Anyway, it actually did go all right after I got over being terrified. I'm feeling VERY negative today because I'm exhausted and sick (sore throat, catching something)so I'm am bitterly thinking about how good this book is and about how no one's ever heard of it, and how I doubt the show made any difference at all, blah, blah, blah. I need to get to BED!!!

Phoebe Wilcox - We are getting very close to printing my first novel, Angels Carry the Sun! I've also found a cover for my new (half-finished) novel, Flower Symbolism for Dummies. Yes, it's going to be a big painted FLOWER--so, so, so, so cool! I'm excruciatingly excited about everything!
